I have put up fly papers but they don't seem to be working, the bloody things keep landing on dd2 and she's getting p*ssed off.

For travelling you will need something light, rugged and watertight so get yourself a plastic, spray bottle. A 100ml bottle will give you enough juice for 2 weeks of protection for 2 people. A suitable container is often sold in travel shops.
To 100ml of alcohol ( 50% volume, 100% proof vodka will do fine ), add the following essential oils...
? 12 drops of cedarwood
? 12 drops of citronella
? 8 drops of geranium
? 8 drops of lavender
? 8 drops of patchouli
? 8 drops of rosemary
Always shake the bottle for a few seconds before spraying the skin as the oils tend to separate out. Use on the neck, wrists and ankles as soon as it gets dark as mosquitoes will target any areas of exposed skin.

Haven't tried it myself yet but am planning to make up a batch tomorrow. Obviously check all oils ok for age of child/allergies!
