Rug doctor - any good ?

The boiler blew soot through the house last week such that you end up with black feet if you walk bare foot anywhere. I had quote for cleaning carpets last year (£300+ for 4 bed) and the carpets aren't that special (ie more building work ahead so just need to see the work out).

Are rug doctors any good ? Will the carpets dry overnight ? Will 4 beds and 2 receptions take an entire weekend during which all furniture will need to be in the hallway ? And how much should it cost ?

Yes, carpets will dry overnight, but yes, 4 beds and 2 reception rooms will take all weekend, it is hard work.

Think they are £25 to hire for 24 hours and then you buy a bottle of solution for around £10 a bottle. You may need a few bottles, not sure how much area they cover.
