Silly Yankee tartlet question

How do you use these? If you have an oil burner-do you put one at the top where the oil would go? You still need a tea light though, yes?!

Hi, yes you put them in the the same place you would normally put the oil and then put a tea light underneath.

Just to add that the tartlet will melt but will not burn away, so once the scent has gone (roughly 8 hours of burn time) you will need to throw the wax away (first one I had I just kept burning it thinking it would disappear like it does with a candle!)

Yes! You don't need to use a whole one either. Cut it in half or smaller, place the tart in the top of the oil burner and a small tealight underneath.
I love wax tarts. They fill a room with scent far more effectively than a good candle ever does in my experience. I even cut up normal candles now and stick them in a burner as the scent release is so much better. Smile

Luckygirl7 I've used the same tartlet 10 or more times and it is still highly scented!

Tip for getting them out of the bowl once the scent has finally gone - let the wax solidify, and then chuck the burner in the freezer for 5 mins. The wax will slide off in one piece.

Yes it's weird some seem to last for ages and others only a burn or 2, I was just quoting Yankees burn time, I wouldn't throw it out if it still had a scent when burnt.

Thank you so much!!
Can I ask which ones last?!

I think it's the scents in them, spice ones seems more likely to linger than floral ones for instance, although midnight jasmine is floral and lasts AGES! Think it's just trial and error on the ones you like.

I like the sound of Midnight Jasmine-I've had a freesia and jasmine diffuser before (probably Airwick or something) and it was gorgeous! I will go for that one.

Thank you :)

Good tip about the freezer - it's a right pain trying to chisel the old wax tart out.

The instructions say just push with the heel of your hand and it slides out - yeah, right!
