black mould!!!

I have black mould on one wall (outside) in a bathroom. Have washed down walls three times - once with Dettol Mould and Mildew and twice with diluted bleach. Have just bought a dehumidifier to dry out the room... any other tips to get rid of it once and for all?

I don't know that you can get rid, but if there's a window open it regularly, especially after a shower/bath. It's helped massively in my house. Also keep washing down the walls regularly with the anti mould and diluted bleach.

It's from condensation. What you need to do is to dry the air/walls as quickly as possible after a bath. IME just opening the window as TessTackle suggests is quicker than dehumidifying and there are safety issues about using electrical devices in bathrooms.
Is there an efficient extractor fan? That will help too (but again, opening the window seems to work faster).

Lakeland mould-remover spray for bathrooms is good.

Okay, will continue with the bleach. Have a dehumidifier going at the moment. There's no extractor fan, and I guess we haven't opened the window because of all the rain etc. I should probably fit an extractor!! Thank you.

Is this wall painted?
You can buy an undercoat of anti mould paint, which is good.
You just paint a few coats on then paint over in normal paint, whatever colour your bathroom is, then it stops the mould.
I had this issue in one corner of the bedroom so just cleaned the corner, then painted the corner in the anti mould stuff, and then in my wall colour. That was about a year ago and no mould since.

save up for an extractor fan. Running cost is negligible, and it is essential for controlling bathroom humidity.

If you have scope to put one in the loft above the ceiling, you can get a quieter and more powerful type.

Hobby2014, my dh has asked me to ask you what make of undercoat you used for anti mould as we also have this problem but haven't tried this yet.

You need a balance of adequete heat and ventilation.

It's trial and error until you find the right combination.

We have a terrible condensation problem and bought a dehumidifier, but it is all over the house so therefore worth our while. If it is just your bathroom, a dehum would be overkill.

We had a condensation specialist in? Who said opening a window is all very well, but it only works if the air outside is dry. If it's damp outside as it has been for ages, it won't help. So, either live with it while it is damp (anti-mould will help of course) or put in an extractor fan.
