Cat pee on a sofa cushion

I have a charming little creature who has peed on one of my sofa cushions. I have washed the cover but the inner cushion itself still stinks. It's too big to get in the washing machine, and I have covered it in fabric spray but I can still smell it.

Does anyone have any tips on what I can do with it (the cushion, not the cat, I have plenty of ideas of what to do with her)?

I use a mix of washing powder and bicarb to wash the area if my cat has wee'd where he shouldn't. Though for a sofa cushion I'd suggest taking it to the laundret.

Soak the cushion overnight in the bath, with a strong solution of bio powder, and some thin bleach, and add some vinegar too. Rinse several times, also agitate the cushion well to rub the pee out. Cat pee does niff....

I swear by a product called simple solution that I buy from pets at home. You just spray it on, leave it to dry and the smell is gone. I'll see if I can find a link

www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/simple-solution-stain-and-odour-remover-750ml

Gets rid of stains, smell and helps prevent repeat marking.

As long as it’s not too big take the inner to your local dry cleaners and have it professionally cleaned.

I second the stain and odour remover from pets at home. great for removing smells.

You could try leaving it in the sun to dry out after you've washed it as best you can - sunlight will kill off any nasties, and will help get rid of the smell.
