What's under your bed?!

Foureyedfox · 10/02/2014 18:30

Does anyone have nothing underneath?! Is it even possible? Minimalist under-bed?
Too much shite stuff under ours. How I'd love to just have nicely hoovered carpet under there!
May have to start a declutter under your bed thread. Can't be good 'chi' to have clutter under there. And the dust. Yuk. How often do you clean under yours? Fascinating topic, I know:)

All the stuff that doesn't fit anywhere else!

Mrswellyboot · 10/02/2014 22:42

No way could I have nothing under the bed. Strorage is at a premium. I have the wooden/canvas underbed storage boxes that dh stores his clothes in. They look tidy.

The at the head of the bed there are two large plastic underbed storage boxes with our shoes in.

In the box room I have several underbed storage boxes with textbooks and one with occasion headpieces, shoes and clutch bags.

I have decluttered the house to the bare minimum and you can't see the clutter.

That room with the clear floor above looks fanastic!

dizhin79 · 11/02/2014 08:26

is one of the only places our hobbit house has storage, Xmas, wedding stuff, books and some pictures that we can't get rid of (shit gifts) are stored under there! clean under it probably every other month. can't access it from the sides /ends

cjdamoo · 11/02/2014 08:34

Sewing machines x 3 bikes x 4 a smoby car various boxes and bags. Should clarify I am currently packing for moving and have just taken apart beds and stacked them on top of other packed stuff :D We are mattress camping.

OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 11/02/2014 08:41

I live in a shitty new build with no storage.

My bed has boxes and boxes of craft stuff underneath that I can't use ATM due to these pesky toddlers.

Laetissimus · 11/02/2014 08:43

Nothing
It's too low to fit anything under

TinyTwoTears · 11/02/2014 08:48

Dust and a ladder. Possibly dirty socks and a barbie, although they may have migrated now.

There's a lot under the DC's bed though.

Happybloodydays · 11/02/2014 09:05

Nothing got a divan base, same with the 2 DS beds but dd has a box of shoes, box of nick nacky stuff, and some games

Bonsoir · 11/02/2014 09:08

Dust nothing.

It gets cleaned really often but we have parquet floors and they are appalling for dust bunny collections under furniture.

ohmymimi · 11/02/2014 11:10

Heavens, it's a valuable storage space where I keep:
Trays on wheels with shoes and boots
My steam press, iron and mini ironing board
Box of filed personal papers
Sewing machine
Box of bath, hair and beauty products
Box of present wrapping essentials
Box of shoe cleaning materials
My personal collection of dust bunnies
All hidden by a lovely valance.

urmydarlings · 11/02/2014 11:19

mine only has dudt bunnies , but dc bunk bed has -two suitcases, one box full of soft toys one of lego and of course dust bunnies.
Imgonna do a proper hoover soon.Wink

MrsMangoBiscuit · 11/02/2014 11:26

Nothing, not even dust. If I'd answered this two weeks ago I would have said;
An entire hoover full of dust
The spare shelf from a unit that got thrown out last year
Half a tub of stale posh biscuits
Old sunglasses
3 odd fluffy socks
5 magazines
An assortment of hair clips and ties
A plastic boat
3 dummies
A belt
One and a half pairs of flip flops
Several coat hangers

Blush
Pascha · 11/02/2014 11:44

3 storage boxes with various coats/clothes/blankets/throws etc, the file boxes with important paperwork and the childrens red books, passports, driving licences etc, last nights underwear and socks, a big wooden table leg that DH likes to think he will cosh intruders with.

Pippinlongsocks · 11/02/2014 12:03

Decorative baskets to store my scarves and belts and stuff that you can see and it looks pretty (it's a black wrought iron bed and I love it). A suitcase full of my summer wardrobe and storage bags with the coats I have no room to hang, these are all at the pillow end and you can't see them. I downsized last year and lost storage space so under the bed is useful to me. I worry about the dust though (for 5 mins usually and then get on with my (new) life.

specialsubject · 11/02/2014 14:36

nothing now - the mattress was going mouldy due to lack of circulation!

rarely used bags now wrapped and in attic.

Labootin · 11/02/2014 14:41

Dh's burglar basher golf club (similar to the table leg idea)
A box of summer shoes/sandals/flip flops
A box of handbags
A bag with the spare bed linen
A box of summer clothes and swimwear

FreakoidOrganisoid · 11/02/2014 14:52

Under mine:
Box of presents
Box of special cards and photos - needs sorting
Box of books
Box of dc schoolwork - needs sorting
A sleeping bag

Under the dc's bunks:
Drawer of trainset
Box of polly pockets
Box of cars
Box of something else (not sure what Blush)
Whatever debris (socks, slippers, teddies, books...) that ends up under there during the night

Coumarin · 12/02/2014 07:48

A spare pillow and that's it.

And I think I'll move that to the spare bed tbh as it's never used.

Linus33 · 12/02/2014 08:23

A rather large 6 man tent, tent poles, self-inflating mattress for camping, an air hockey table Blush and a cat (a live one before anyone asks!). Nope, it doesn't get cleaned very often...

SnookyPooky · 14/02/2014 17:27

Dust bunnies and a small lizard with the head bitten off.

daisychicken · 16/02/2014 10:48

I hope that's a toy lizard snooky?! I have visions of a cringy mess if it's not! Grin

bigwellylittlewelly · 16/02/2014 19:51

Under the divan we have all the childrens clothes in vacuum bags can't quite bring myself to pass on the baby things just yet

Under the big kingsize we have many dust bunnies, a futon mattress and all our travel holdalls. I would love an empty underbed area but accept its not going to happen anytime soon!

SomeLikeItChilliHot · 16/02/2014 23:19

Last week, I asked my 8yo DS to go under the guest bed to pull out all the crap underneath. Its got walls on 3 sides and I couldnt fit under myself. He did a marvellous job, despite the odd "something just moved" statement Shock

We threw out 150 cassette tapes and lots of old mobile phone chargers, wires etc, and reorganised the rest:
Party decorations
Wrapping paper
Tool kit
Picture frames

Hoovering under there felt soooo great. Inch thick dust at least!

And definitely a medal to my brave DS (I let him keep a pair of headphones he found as a reward, he was dead chuffed)

SnookyPooky · 17/02/2014 08:30

Daisy it's real. One of the cats will have brought it in.

Sad51 · 17/02/2014 11:47

Our bed;

Toys that she does not play with as often
