Cake recipe for shaped tin?

I bought lovely tins from Aldi a couple of years ago, one has 8 heart shapes and the other flowers, they look great but a standard cake mix sticks even though I greased them first. Does anyone have a recipe that would turn out better please?

I use cake release spray for shaped tins. Brilliant stuff.

Yes, Nigella's buttermilk cake is a winner. I have used it for all sorts of shapes (pumpkins, witches, giant cupcake tin etc) and it never goes wrong.

My other top tip is to invest in Lakeland's cake release it is an absolute godsend and means that your cake won't stick.
