Help! Vomit & Mould on beloved Snow White costume!

What should I do?
Dd puked on her brand new Snow White costume in the car, so I bagged it up. But when I got it out the bag...ummmm....2 days later (it was gross OK? I really didn't want to deal with it!) it had grown mould. Arggghh. Yuk.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

xx

I don't think this should come under Good Housekeeping, do you?

hairymclary · 03/08/2006 20:48

erm, wash it?

misdee · 03/08/2006 20:48

hose it down, then soak in oxy-clean. then wash. if some black mould spots remain, then you could try a weak solution of hydrogen peroxide ~check for colour fastness tho.

Yes, yes, yes Ms. McLary...of course I washed it, should have mentioned that....so far it is on its fifth cycle.

Thank you for your tip Misdee. Will go back a step and soak it in Oxy-clean when the cycle finishes.

Wash it thoroughly and many times if needed, mould is a nasty thing for children's respiratory systems.

Of that I am well aware...asthmatic dd.....wouldn't keep it in any case if it still had mould on it! When she wears a costume it is on for the day and goes wherever we go! Much to my dp's shame.
