Help! Lilly Pollen on cream carpet

Hiya...
BIG dilemma... I went out the other day and when I came back, a vase had fallen over that had lillies in it. My cream carpet now has bright orange marks all over it and carpet cleaner wont move it. HELP!

Nothing but nothing removes lily pollen once it's gotten into the fibres. The trick is to use sticky tape as soon as you can and lift the pollen from the fabric - but once you rub it or try to clean it with water or detergent, you're stuffed. Water sets the stain, and it will be a pig to shift.

Pollen is the very devil for getting on things. That's why you have to be so careful around cats.

Don't rush to replace the carpet. As others have said, moisture or water will make the pollen stain but sunlight will fade the marks over time.

So, get the water mopped up using old towels and stamping on them until the carpet is as dry as you can get it then leave nature to do her thing.

Milton sterilising fluid got pollen out of my carpet after some googling, it was like magic! Used sparingly and dabbing and blotting if you know what I mean, it lifted the stain right out

Tip for future, very carefully remove the stamen and pollen before putting the flowers in vase (try to avoid getting the stamen on the petals too). This should help avoid similar incident and, with other measures, prolong your enjoyment of the flowers (as the pollen can stain the petals too).

My mum got it out from her new carpet by bleaching it... Is your new carpet bleachable?

I had exactly the same problem and used isopropyl alcohol spray. It was a miracle. It was the most awful stain you've ever seen - I thought I'd have to buy a new carpet.

I just sprayed the alcohol on and it vanished. No idea how! No smell after either.

Brand new cream carpet. 2 days later lily stain !. Not just the pollen on top but walked in and bright orange. Used isopropyl alcohol 99.9% strength. Gone. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Just a drop at a time and dab it with a tissue. Repeat as many times as it takes and that's it. Wish I'd known about this stuff years ago.
