Any thoughts on getting hold of oak flooring without breaking the bank (North London / Welwyn)? It all seems absurdly expensive...

How about using reclaimed oak flooring from an architectural salvage place? Would have a character and a story.

Friend of mine did her whole upstairs in it. She got it half price at the Ideal Home exhibition. The company delivered it 2 weeks later. It would mean you having to wait until next March of course
