washing my New dress?

I bought a dress in the sale and didn't realise that it was dry clean only it's 100% polyester and has pleats. if I hand wash it or machine wash it, will it shrink, Or will the pleats just fall out?

No ideas anyone?

Sounds a bit unusual polyester is dry clean only, perhaps it's because of the pleats? I think they might come out in the wash. Will the dress iron on a cooler temperature easily?

It might not shrink - but you may lose the pleats.

I did this and the pleats came out.
