hoover recommendations?

Hi, I wondered if anyone could recommend a hoover (so useless at making decisions!)?

I will be using it mainly for floorboards and stone floors - ideally without a BAG.

The gtech air ram. It is fab, light and cordless. It makes vacuumimg loads easier and is good on hard floor.

I like my miele cylinder one but it does have bags

ImMarmite · 23/01/2014 21:35

I'm a professional cleaner...Miele's are best but there a bag Hoover...keep away from dyson's they break easily, cost a lot to fix ect... Also Henry hoovered are great & quiet (& not as big as big they used to be)

Another meile cylinder fan here!

Clargo55 · 23/01/2014 21:40

Yep another vote for Miele here too. Amazing piece of equipment, tis sad but I love mine Blush

A second vote for the Gtech AirRam - love it!

I loved my Miele, but lost it in a house fire. I was going to replace it, but it seems that the newer models aren't as good? After reading the reviews on John Lewis, I bought a Henry which has been fab...still miss the Miele...

Sebo upright. Fab.

Thanks for the replies, I'll check them out - I thought everyone would recommend the Dyson so good to hear some other makes. Why are the Miele so good - quieter, more powerful?

My Miele literally sucks the carpet off the floor if turned up too high. Also really quiet and light weight to carry upstairs.

Bagless never work as well. The reason we got the Miele in the first place was because there's not many bagged machines left anymore and the reviews seem to be great for the cylinders (not so much the uprights).

I've just bought a bagless Bosch cylinder for my tiled & wood floors - the one they were advertising with the sleeping tiger.

My Dyson was driving me mad - too noisy and rubbish on rugs.

Love the Bosch - it's quiet, powerful, light to pull around and a doddle to empty.

milkysmum · 24/01/2014 22:51

I've just got a henry and love it- I kid you not it is amazing! (heads off to get a life)

Olivegirl · 25/01/2014 19:43

I love my ball dyson d24 the only carpet I have in the house is stairs and landing ,it does all over house ...wood floors ,tiles & carpet ....so light and easy to use ...do the stairs in secondsWink

VerucaInTheNutRoom · 25/01/2014 19:48

I love my Miele S2111. I got it in the Amazon Black Friday sale. I did have a Vax previously but it was so noisy and the filter had to be washed once a week then took a whole day to dry. Bits kept dropping off it. I have never hated an inanimate object so much. The day I took it to the dump (it was less than a year old) was the happiest of my 2013 (almost).

Fairylea · 25/01/2014 19:53

Another vote for henry. Bagged ones are so much more hardy than the bagless ones.

hollyisalovelyname · 25/01/2014 20:48

Miele Cat and Dog

LeBFG · 26/01/2014 19:13

All noted - thanks again lovely MNers
