An oven cleaning question, if I may!

Can anyone tell me if when you clean your fan assisted oven, do you remove the back panel and clean around the fan? It's just that I was told by an engineer today that I should be doing just that and I have NEVER EVER done it. Am I disgusting????? Grin

I didn't even know you could do that and I've had fan ovens for yonks. I refuse to fiddle with anything inside an oven tbh, too easy to break something

Well that's what I thought, I've had fan assisted ovens for years and the one I have at the moment is only 18 months old and set on fire a few days ago!! The engineer said well it is because the fan had grease on it and I should have taken it to bits to clean it!

sorry can't help but am blatantly going to mark my place as this weekend has oven cleaning on the agenda!

Well I have the answer now, I contacted the manufacturer and they said they DO NOT recommend taking the back plate off so the engineer was talking bollocks!!
