I have run out of dishwasher tablets and need to put the machine on tonight...is there something I could use instead? Please don't make me wash it all by hand SadGrin!!!

I'd ask my neighbour.

HiccupHaddockHorrendous · 16/01/2014 22:25

Hmm, I think it's bit late for that. I'd hoped there might some bicarb/white vinegar-type solution!

Soda crystals?

A squirt of persil?

Bakingnovice · 16/01/2014 22:26

Fairy liquid?

RedKites · 16/01/2014 22:31

I found this on Google so have no idea if they work. However, the first 'gel' recipe just needs soap, water, glycerin and vinegar or lemon juice so they might all be things you have?

ineedanexcuse · 16/01/2014 22:32

Put it all in the machine .

Close the door and go to bed.

In the morning go to the shop to buy DW tablets.

Job done with no wet hands Grin

Aethelfleda · 16/01/2014 22:33

Can you just run it on the hottest wash with no tablet in?

OpalQuartz · 16/01/2014 22:34

Yes I think hottest wash with nothing added

WhispersOfWickedness · 16/01/2014 22:34

Is there something specific in there you need which is why you need it on tonight? If I were you, I would hand wash what you really need and just rinse the rest, so it's not too awful for when you do manage to get some tablets.
Please don't put washing up liquid in unless you enjoy foam parties Grin

serant · 16/01/2014 22:37

no washing up liquid, it will damage the machine.
try running it without any detergent.

JennyPiccolo · 16/01/2014 22:39

A cup of vinegar and a hot wash. I've done a wash with no detergent and it's been ok though.

Beamur · 16/01/2014 22:42

I wouldn't use washing up liquid. We ran out of tabs on holiday and my MIL (and PIL) were adamant that a bit of washing up liquid would be just fine.
The kitchen looked like we were having a foam party in it! Grin it exploded out of the seams.
