Sorry, should add that we have a glow worm mega flow boiler and I've checked the timer and the hot water switch is definitely on.

Umm need more info Grin

What sort if heating system have you got? When was it last working? Have you messed with the settings? Is the house rented or your own?

Xpost!

Own house. Hot water fine last night when I had shower.
No one touches timer etc except me and I haven't messed with anything.
I've turned the hot water from 'timer' to 'on' in case timer was cocked but no difference.
If I term heating thermostat up boiler kicks in, flame lights and we get heat.
Just no hot water Sad

Is there a hot water tank in the airing cupboard?

Also- try reposting this in the diy section and you'll likely get better responses than just me Grin

If you have a hot water tank it's possible that the 3 - way valve has stuck, which can happen either if it breaks, or if the system hasn't been flushed out, silt n stuff builds up and jams the valve.
This happened to me last year and I had to have a new valve fitted.

disclaimer....I am not a plumber, but i hope you get it sorted.

This happened to us and it was the diverter valve. If you have the heating off and run the hot water does the boiler kick in?

mckenzie · 14/01/2014 20:06

Even with the heating off, there's still no hot water.
I've also put the emersion Heater on but still nothing.
I'll re post in DIY. Thanks for your posts.

Well that's the same situation we had, new diverter valve, cost about £200 I think.

gobbin · 14/01/2014 21:14

We had this at start Dec but other way round, had hot water but no heating. It was the electronic time clock at fault. It could have been the three way switch in the boiler though as mentioned earlier.

Thanks for the posts, I've managed to get a plumber to come tomorrow morning (I hope).
Bed without a bath?? Yuk!
