How do I wash a shrinky Boden dress??

I have a nice dress from Boden (yes, I did read the 'middle class uniform' thread and still don't care).

When I washed it it shrank spectacularly and went from about an inch below knee length to just under bum length and even with leggings and a long coat I felt very self conscious wearing it.

Confused

I've replaced it because I really liked it and at the correct length it looks really good on me.

However, I've not washed it yet because I'm scared.

It's very soft jersey, instructions say 40 degree but that is clearly very wrong.

Even on a 30 wash I'll feel nervous.

Any ideas??

How did you dry it? I'd try gentle 30 degree wash (so low spin speed as well) and then air dry it, probably flat for a while then on a hanger so it's own weight will pull it to full length. I wouldn't put it straight onto hanger if it's very weight, it might end up ankle length Wink

I hope you told Boden you washed it according to instructions and they replaced it for free?

I stuck it straight onto a hanger last time I dried it and hung it up.

Suppose if I hadn't done that it might've made a nice top.

Hmm

I have a 30 wool wash on my machine. Will that be okay?

:)
