Dishwashers and cereal bowls

We need a new everyday dinner set, but all the bowls are now narrower and deeper than traditional cereal bowls.
Where do you put them in the dishwasher.... Do they go in the plates bit or the cups bit?
Our dishwasher is always v full?
Thank you Brew. Wine

The deep ones go on the top shelf, faced down like a mug, sometimes will go in the bottom but on their sides. The flatter ones go wherever they will stand up.

I'd put them in wherever they fit best. Stacking the dishwasher is like a logic puzzle and I like figuring out the way to fit the most in.

p.s. mine go in the top rack - some in the bits that would hold plates but the bowls sort of lean forward at an angle. I can then fit other at the side that lean forward onto the sides of the bowls in the plate holders

This is a nightmare - normally put them loose in bottom shelf but it's prob not best

Thank you all, I guess it's not just me being stupid, DH is much better at loading it to capacity than I am, new bowls will just strengthen this argument :-)

Mine go in the top. Soaked first so they dont need to get welded stuff off.

Mine go in the top face down. But I agree it is a pain, my old ones were like big saucers, the new ones are more like big mugs and don't stack so they do take a lot more room.

We put ours on the top along with mugs.

I do not know if your dishwasher is always very full.
