Help! Cooker hood.

"D"H has decided cooker hood needed cleaning. I wash with hot soapy water and a cloth. He's taken a plastic scourer to it. I told him to stop but he maintained it'd be fine. Grrr emoticon. It's dark and I can't tell for sure but I'm fairly certain he's scratched it really badly. What can I do?

If it's scratched I doubt you could do anything to solve thatHmm but if it's dull you could try shining it up with stainless steel cleaner, baby oil is good to shine stainless steel up!

Probably not much you can do if scratched. However In future I find just an e-cloth and water work fine.

what is it made of?

does it have a plastic visor?

A plastic scourer used with WUL is quite good for getting hardened kitchen grease deposits off.

Is it an extractor, or a recirculating hood?
