How to replace cracked cafetiere jug

I have cracked the glass in my cafetiere. I have got a new jug (right size) but I cannot pull the old one out of the metal frame - am scared to get too heavy-handed in case it breaks and I end up with lacerations. Anyone got any advice about how to do this? There is a bolt at the top of the handle where it joins the metal frame. Do you have to loosen that to slide old jug out and get new one in? Or what?

Put it in hot soapy washing up water for a few minutes, then give it a pull.

Loosening the screw also sounds like a good idea

My cafetiere jugs last much longer now I give the coffee a stir with a plastic (not metal) spoon, but have not found anywhere to buy spares.

You can loosen the screw. If it is a genuine Bodum you can get a genuine Bodum glass to fit. If the frame and glass are different makes and it is too tight it may shatter when full of hot coffee. This is very tiresome.
