Am gathering quite a stash now, can we have a list of all possible uses for milk tins please?!

So far, using for pens and crayons and glue. Inspire me with ideas of what to do with the other 400 ........

If you have a real surplus, I bet your local pre-school, or primary would be pleased to have them (we used to decant powder paint into them for each class from the huge bulk bought containers).

i gave them to my dad for nails too! also use them for rabbit food dispensing they go a bit rusty after a while

southeastastra · 18/07/2006 10:01

I covered one in bright purple contact paper stuff and keep packets of spices in it.

I painted them all, punched a few holes in the bottom for drainage and used them as plant pots.

I've had a progress tin as a button box for 19 years.

"Stilts" for kids. Punch holes in either side and thread a long bit of string through and tie in a loop. Kid then stands on the tins and holds the tins onto their feet with the string. We used to do this with cocoa tins, maybe not quite so high as the milk tins
Jumpers for goalposts etc etc

If you've kept the plastic lids, then cut a few crosses in the lids and replace on the tins, and you can use them for drying and storing paintbrushes without crushing the bristles.

Make candle holders out of them?

KTeePee · 18/07/2006 13:53

We made a toy drum out of one recently and use another one for storing a toy which has lots of small pieces

Keep pencils and felt tips in ours

Keep hair ties, clips in them

At school I made a sex education question box by making a posting hole in the lid. For anonymous questions!
