Hi all i was wondering what everyone does to keep babies toys clean?? My son is 6 months and im not sure how often his toys should be being cleaned and what with? I dont like using dettol for things that go in his mouth really but id like to hear what other mums do, not what the internet reccomends but what ladies like myself do day to day?

Thanks x

Milton is good for toys. Although having said that I was crap with keeping DD's toys really clean. I'm of the 'a bit of dirt never hurt' school of thought and she's very rarely ill.

Erm you're supposed to clean them?! I only give things a rinse under the tap/wipe with a dettol wipe if they fall on the floor outside or chuck in the washing machine if a soft toy. If never really occurred to me to wash the rest unless they looked dirty!

I was like the others if it was dirty I wiped them with Milton or a soft toy you put in the machine, your baby needs to build up an immunity to germs!

As above - when they look obviously dirty, I give them a wipe with Milton or a wet tissue (depends what they've been dirtied with!) and threw soft toys into the machine when they looked grubby. I had one toy that came out of the machine looking worse (attracted tons of fluff and dust) so it's gone!

I'm not a total slattern as I do like my house nice and clean but other than chucking soft toys in washing machine and dusting the plastic toys can't say I've cleaned any toys and I've never bought Milton. Or thought to for that matter.
