I am trying to find some new bed linen for our room. Dh normally responds to any interior design questions with yeah/ fine/ ok/ it'll do/ whatever.

But now he has decided that oxford pillowcases are weird and shouldn't have flappy frilly bits (!).

Is he weird to be so against a style of pillowcase? (Especially as he normally doesn't give a crap!) Hmm

IMHO only if he has a vested interest in the ironing . Ie a standard pillowcase you can bung on without ironing (did I say that out loud Blush
) whereas an Oxford pillowcase always looks better ironed.

I have said too much. Grin

Nope -perfectly normal. Oxford pillowcases are waaaay too flappy. I can't stand them.

dexter73 · 29/11/2013 10:46

He is not weird, he is absolutely right. Why does a pillow case need a weird, flappy, frilly bit any way?!!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/11/2013 10:49

I don't see the point of the flappy bits.

VelvetStrider · 29/11/2013 10:58

He's completely normal. The flaps are just annoying and get in the way when you're tossing the pillows around at night when changing position!

As for those padded table runner things that lie across the bottom of the bed......utterly pointless.

Suddengeekgirl · 29/11/2013 13:24

Ok so maybe he's not completely weird just a bit it does seem like all the fancy bedding I've looked at and liked is oxford pillowcases.

velvet - totally with you on the weird table runner bed spreads. Utterly useless - unless you are 4 and decide to dress yourself like a mummy with one in a hotel! :)

My DH won't have them on the bed either, well not on the pillows he uses to sleep....we have way too many pillows on our bed :)
