I have the Lakeland dryer and have to keep the windows open if it's on. What should I spend on it? Or would it be a good idea to get a couple of cheaper ones?

try posting in the good housekeeping section instead, much better response rates there Grin

I have the argos value range one, cost about £100 quid. It's on pretty much constantly in the winter due to old, damp house. It works fine, fills up a couple of times in 24 hours and have had it about 3 years. It is quite noisy though, not sure if pricier models would be quieter.
