And I'm feeling irrationally pleased with myself.

My 13 year old Dyson is on its last legs and has been for about 6 months (not picking up stuff, bits dropping off, plastic breaking etc). I was browsing the Amazon Black Friday deals, and have just got a Vax Air Reach for £69.99 instead of £119.99.

Don't really care if it's not quite as good as a Miele/Henry/AN Other, it'll still be better than the old Dyson in the house! DH has therefore claimed the Dyson for the garage so he can hoover out the cars - which I believe is why it stopped working in the first place - half a tree branch up the hose anyone?! Hmm

lol! Wow a hoover that lasted 13years? I've never heard of such a thing!

Vax do have some replaceable parts available on line, when I had a Vax. dh had to replace the belts a few times and hey if u need to change it at least u got it nearly half price!

Yeah, 13 years is quite good - but then my DF's is about 18 years old and still works).

However, the Vax has arrived and it's awesome.

I've just tried it, and (having hoovered yesterday before it arrived due to DS spilling toast crumbs everywhere) there shouldn't have been anything to pick up - but I've had to empty it already. Blush
