Which Miele vacuum cleaner?

Finally our rubbish hoover has died and I can get a Miele :)

Now need to work out which one.
We have an average-sized semi with some carpet, some laminate, some vinyl and there are 4 people (2 long-haired, two short-haired) and two short-haired cats. Also I definitely want a cylinder as the dead one was a ton-weight upright.

All suggestions welcome, thanks.

I don't have a miele but just googlilng this out of interest (might go for a miele once our dyson gives up).

This seems to fit what you want and seems to come out well in tests.

I ^looooves* my Miele cat and dog. I bought the cylinder, as we have an old house with uneven floors and lots of nooks and crannies, so the cylinder was a better model for us. We have 3 long-haired folks, 2 short-haired and a couple of cats (one of which is a long-hair and given to leaving outlines of himself on the carpet after a snooze).

Only drawback is cleaning the hair off the brushes after you've vacuumed, which makes me heave, but that would be the same for any vacuum.

Bags aren't cheap but are worth Every Penny, trust me Grin

Get a Morphy Richards upright ,they're light ,have swivel steering and are much better than Dysons at a third of the price !

Oh, should say you do have to change the head on the Miele when you move from carpet to hard floor, as the hard floor will damage the brushes in the carpet head. However, it vacuums well on both types of surface (we have carpet and ceramic tiles).

Thank you everyone, off to move money around and finally get a decent vacuum :)
