Ironing!! Teach me!

I can't seem to do ironing. Iron one side of the tee shirt, turn it over to do the other side, and then there are creases on the first side. Iron them out, and now there's creases on the back again! Finally get top looking somewhat smooth, lay it on the spare bed overnight, put it on my son in the morning and it's crumpled again like it hasn't even seen an iron!
My shirts are the same, I just can't get the creases out - where am I going wrong? And it's a Bosch iron, so it's not like it's some smart price thing, it cost me £25!
Help me look smart!

Are you using the steam on the iron? I always give things a good shake before I iron and make sure I lay them down flat smoothing out any creases by hand before I lay the iron on. Then use steam while you iron. Start with colar, then sleeves and then do the body. You must hang shirts straight onto a hanger or they crease as they are still warm. Do the top button up to give shape to the neck while it cools. So either hang up or fold immediately.

Line them up by the seams. Remember they're made of flat fabric so each panel must eventually go flat. If the fabric is stretchy like t-shirts, don't press too hard because that makes the fabric stretch and makes creases on the other side.
Use the point of the ironing board to help you where you can - sometimes you can put a t-shirt over the end and do a bit then rotate it round. IME the quality of the iron doesn't make an awful lot of difference but a decent ironing board does. (Though actually I was brought up to iron on a table with a blanket, but ironing boards do help with some jobs.)

Roll a towel into the sleeves off shirts before you iron

Hang immediately

currentbun that's genius - I keep meaning to buy a sleeve board and not getting round to it, must give your idea a go.

There are some fabulous ironing tutorials on YouTube. Honest!

Also, please watch the "how to fold a fitted sheet" tutorial. It is genius.
