Just did dd's room yesterday. Filled a bin bag of rubbish and another for the charity shop. Found it depressing to find last year's Christmas presents unused, still in their packaging with the knowledge that there will be more to come in a few weeks.

I wish they didn't get so much stuff but we have a big family and they have a lot of aunts and uncles.

Yes I know that feeling

I did do a bag of toys last weekend but there is at least another bag I can get rid of I reckon

Then there's the kitchen eek

Argos were collecting unwanted toys on behalf of Barnardos. I think they all are. I have taken in two bin bags of forgotten toys and I could probably fill another one of I got really ruthless.

I did ours at the weekend. :)

I've ditched all the happy meal/ comic toys and broken stuff.
The baby toys are gone (dd is 2.5)
Everything has been put in the right place/ organised.

entwife - is that collecting for re-selling in banardos charity shops?

I have 2 boxes of baby toys, a large set of mega blocks and wooden bricks all destined for the charity shop.

I've sorted a few books and toys for the christmas fair, 2 bags of clothes for the Scope box and some items for the charity shop. I made enough room in the toy cupboard to store all the kids xmas presents high up which is good. I discovered an unopened box of Aquabeads and considered giving it back as a xmas present this year, but decided to give it to them now. I could have used it as a birthday present for another child actually. Too late!

Today I WILL tackle the downstairs toys

I never really found homes for last years presents. However I've started a ruthless "if you leave it scattered across the floor at the end of the day it gets binned' regime. Works quite well for cheap toys we can't find all the bits for (obv not lego!).

Vivacia · 27/11/2013 15:39

I am ruthless with the quantity of toys kept in the house. Only a very limited number are allowed out at any one time, (but they rotate with some in storage).
