Fan in oven spitting dirty greasy bits out?

I oven pride-ed my oven last month and it looked great and shiny and lovely.

I've realised now though that the fan (or swim thing at the back) appears to be spitting out brown greasy bits that land on the empty grill tray that sits at the bottom of the oven.

What's going on?

Am thinking I need to dismantle the back of it to get it truly clean. But that sounds a bit scary and extreme!

Any ideas?

I'd open the windows, put the oven on really hot and wait for the Burrs to burn off. My oven cleaning man did that last time he was here
