Floor cleaning woes!

Hi I am new to this topic but hoping for some advice... I live in a large house with an odd layout over 3 floors. Some floors are laminate, some tiled and some medium pile carpet.

My current Hoover is good but very heavy and cumbersome to lug about... It has different nozzles for hard floors but they are a faf to change.

I am looking for a new vacuum/Hoover that's
light weight and was also wondering if a steam mop is worth getting? Me and dd both have long hair that maults everywhere plus a toddler so lots of spills and crumbs etc!

Any recommendations or tips??

Not an all-in-one solution, but we have mixed flooring (albeit in a very small place!). We have carpet (one medium pile, one short pile), laminate and lino.

The simplest thing for me has actually been to focus on them separately - one approach for the carpets, another for the lino and laminate.

I have long thick hair that also moults everywhere, I have a rubber room to brush the carpet as I find it's the best way to get hairs out. I have a standard light/easy to manoeuvre vacuum cleaner for keeping it up to scratch, then go over with the brush every so often.

I use an e-Cloth mop for the laminate and lino; the duster head gets used the most, I use it pretty much for picking up and sweeping anything (also fantastic for hairs!) and use the mop head with a squeezy bottle of liquid for cleaning. Very light, large head, also manoeuvres very easily and into difficult spots, easy to whip out for cleaning up quickly after DS.

*rubber broom!

I suppose having rubber rooms might be easier to clean Hmm Or a bit disturbing.
