Anyone have a fabric headboard on their bed and can answer a question for me...

How do you keep it clean?

I have visions of the 'soul glow' moment from 'coming to America'. Dh and I both like to read in bed, will we just end up with greasy head patches on a fabric headboard (note: we are not particularly greasy or hair producty but have only ever had wooden headboards so not sure how this works)

I just LOVE this bed

Could you just get a couple of big square pillows to out behind you when you sit up?

Or some anti-macassars? :o

I would be concerned I think- pillowcases tend to go yellowish in our house after a while, and I wouldn't say we were particularly greasy. Nor do we use soul glow. Generally I think washable is good in the vicinity of the bed. Have had enough toddler vomit incidents to steer me away from anything fancy.

We have one and it is 20 years old and still clean. I keep thinking about having it recovered to update the fabric, but it is still in such good condition. We have always used big pillows that we lean against/put our heads on so heads don't go directly on it. We dust it periodically with a damp cloth.

Dhs side of ours is a bit grotty, it's suede material. I didn't even think of protecting it and now I haven't a clue how to clean it?

We have, as anotherguru suggested, big square pillows.

Giant pillows eh? I might yet persuade dh, thanks all.
