You'll get the best result from a professional cleaner.

I've not done this myself (yet), but I've read on here before about sprinkling bicarb on the carpet, leave it overnight, it apparently brings the dirt up and then you vacuum it in the morning and it leaves it quite clean and freshened. Perhaps Google the bicarb method as it's the one I've heard the most success with (bar hiring one of those big carpet cleaning machines).

hire a rug doctor from b&q. they are very good, easy to use and cheap.

then hire it again after the party Wink

if you've never used a rug-doctor type of thing before, you will be stunned when you look in the collecting bin. Mud, grit, cigarette ends, dead spiders, bogies, half-bricks...

ALittleBitOfMagic · 14/11/2013 19:15

I've tried the bicarb thing - it didn't work Confused

thanks ladies! Grin
