Sick on my pillow, pain in my heart...caused by DS

Well as the cheesey thread title suggests, DS came into our bed last night as usual and then promptly throw up everywhere.

How do I get sick out of feather pillows? Its gone through the pillow case and pillow protectors to the actual pillow and it reeks, yuck.

TIA

same here - dd2 puked in her bed, our bed, then the sofa. I'm chucking her pillow (synthetic - never managed to successfully wash one) but hoping I can salvage our feather pillows. Sympathy!

You will have to sling it in the washing machine with bio powder I think - I've done that with feather cushions before and it was fine. Think better if you can tumble dry them but mine just went on radiator

Poledra · 13/11/2013 09:35

You can machine-wash feather pillows - the difficult bit is getting them dry quickly enough. I tumble-dry mine then put them on a radiator to make sure they're bone-dry. Much easier to cope with in summer, but children never make these things easy for us!

Hope he's feeling better this morning.

Oh, and make sure you don't overload the machine - a water-logged feather pillow weighs a ton! So only wash one at a time.

Thanks so much, I'll wash itt onight.

I'd probably chuck it or if it was a really nice pillow, take to the dry cleaners.

it is so difficult to dry feather pillows. You might find they decay and stink before drying to the middle.

Look at the price of new ones.

Frontdoorstep · 15/11/2013 09:06

I think I'd just chuck it out, in fact I'm certain I'd chuck it out, but then I'm always chucking things out.
