Anyone know about storage heaters???

So I finally have in and turned on the heaters last night. I've turned on both the bedroom one and living room one at the wall and then turned the input and output dials the what the booklet suggested but they're still stone cold.

Am I missing something or are they possibly broken??

What did the book say? I always used to set mine to: In put: high. Out put: low.

Sometimes mine take a few days to come on when I turn them back on for winter.

There should be a plug next to the heater. You do also need to switch on.

not a plug, a switch. Some of the switches have an indicating neon which can be useful

You may also have a separate meter and/or consumer unit for the offpeak heating. Look for anything switched off. If you puzzle it out, write a note on a durable label and stick it near the meter for future use. The timer will turn on the power to the offpeak supply round about midnight, and depending on how your timer works, the supply to the heaters may be dead until then.

If anyone draped e,g, washing on top of the heaters last year, they will have overheated and the internal overheat fuse melted.
