Fairy/persil non bio

I've always used fairy non bio washing powder but I hate the fact it has no smell. The other day, persil non bio liquid was on offer, so u thought I'd give it a try.

My 3 month DS has a rash on his body which I'm guessing is from the persil?

Are there any other washing powders/liquids that I can use for sensitive skin? I really hate fairy but obviously I'll go back to it if I have to.

Fairy does have a smell Confused, it's just not really strong like Persil et al. There are sensitive laundry products but they're all likely to have very mild fragrances (strong fragrance chemicals are a skin irritant).

Can you try the Persil again but use an extra rinse cycle so that less residue is left on the clothes. See if that makes a difference?

Ecover has a gorgeous smell and is very safe on sensitive skin. I try others sometimes but always wish I hadn't

I like Ecover's scent but I don't find it does a very good job if actually cleaning, which is a bit frustrating Hmm.

You get used to the smell of your washing powder/liquid, so you stop being able to smell it. We use Persia non-bio and I don't think it has a smell as I am used to it.

FWIW I use anything on offer (Daz, surf etc) with loads of extra rinses and the baby seems fine in this house - she did/does have eczema but experimentation indicated fabric softener or not rinsing extra flared it more than any specific brand. It is now under control with burts bees ointment (like vaseline, but not).

Oh and liquid/gel is worse than powder (for both washing machine and baby) - big box bio all the way, but at about half dose.

On a brighter note, by using something different every time I buy a box I don't get too used to my washing smell Smile

I used Persil Non Bio for years as my son had bad skin as a baby but had to stop using it when they added fragrance (and lots of people reported skin flare ups) as I am too sensitive to perfumes - I even have trouble walking down the washing aisle in the supermarket!

I now use Surecare but as it has no scent will probably not be any use to you

Thanks for all your suggestions. My washing machine is crap so I already have to do an extra spin. I'd rather nit have to do an extra rinse too, so I think I'll just go back to fairy. Really wish I could use the strong smelling stuff though! Grin

Try persil powder it is not as strong as the liquid.
