I put fabric conditioner in and as above really, if seemed to disappear and the drawer was full of water? Has been like this for a few cycles now! Tried to soak the water up with a towel but was back again after a new wash.

This happens to mine when the conditioner congeals a bit in the drainage pipe. If you take the drawer out you should be able to clean it with a cotton bid or something.

When this happens to me I just pull the drawer out completely and clean out all the gunk. It's surprising how filthy it can get.

Is it a Hotpoint machine? Had this trouble with mine - used to happen every 6 months or so. Cleaning the drainage pipe didn't work. A bit of googling told me the problem and it was to do with the water inlet holes above the fabric conditioner reservoir. You need to scrub at them with an old scrubbing brush and pick any gunge out of the holes with a cocktail stick.

I get this in my Bosch machine on certain cycles. I carefully take the drawer out and empty in the sink. I tend to leave the drawer out all the time now as it stops the black mould growing around it so bad.

I have this too, it stays there for weeks, suddenly disappears, then starts building up again. I don't even know how to get the drawer out to clean it

I just give mine a bloody good yank PublicEnemy

The drawer should come out easily. You might find an indented bit in the middle which you push down on with your finger to release it. I put mine through the dishwasher occasionally to remove the build up of conditioner.

With mine I have To gently press the Middle section To Get the drawer out, then that Middle section lifts out.

I have to pull mine out firmly and then wash all the areas of the drawer plus the compartment the drawer fits into. I spray bleach spray at the black mould on the roof of it and use an old toothbrush to scrub the wee holes.

If you use vinegar for fabric softener it doesn't happen.

Clean as above with a baby bottle brush from poundland!

Once a week or so put on overnight for a service wash longest cycle for hottest temp gives it all a good clean out.

everydayaschoolday · 10/11/2013 10:06

yes, I cleaned the roof of the compartment the drawer goes into and this cleared the problem.

Managed to get the drawer out last night, turns out i have to push the middle section. It looks as good as new now :)
