2800 spin dryers

hiddenhome · 06/11/2013 12:55

We no longer have room for a tumble dryer, so we have ordered a spin dryer.

Does anybody have experience of these?

Our house is cluttered small so not even enough room for a Lakeland dryer.

We used to use a spin dryer before we had an automatic washing machine and hand washed everything, but had never considered using one as well.

But - they do spin way faster than an automatic washer does, because they spin round instead of over, so you should find you get extra water out of things that have had a normal wash, so they ought to air dry more quickly I would have thought.

Thanks. Our washing machine has a 1400 spin and the stuff comes out a bit damp but takes ages to dry in the cold weather. I'm struggling to dry towels and bedding.

I've ordered one too! It should be here next week.

I ordered the white knight 4.1kg one.

It was £92 on amazon

hiddenhome · 07/11/2013 17:06

We've ordered the White Knight one too Grin

The reviews for it are better than the indesit ones in John Lewis.

Great minds think alike.

Well Fluffy I hope it works for us. I'm sick of the laundry already. Day two of drying in the lounge for my towels now. We have the fire lit as well.

It's the cat's fault. She's sucking all the warmth up for herself Grin

I don't see how it can fail really.

Dh doesn't know I've ordered one, apparently I don't need one Hmm.

You would think after the electric knife debacle he would just let me get on with it but no, he has opinions.

hiddenhome · 07/11/2013 20:15

Ooo, I know not of the electric knife debacle

If I get a message from Amazon saying they've sold, out I hope you send yours to me because I need it most

Electric knife debacle (standard script in this house)

Me "I think we'd find an electric knife useful for the bread and roasts"
Dh "you don't want one of them"
Me "I think it would be useful"

Repeat for two weeks.

Dh "this is brilliant isn't it? Much easier. I don't know how we managed without this"

Imagine this for almost all household appliances. All of them, even dishwashers.

Mine got dispatched today, delivery is next Thursday.

Together we will start a spin dryer revival Wink

UPDATE

It's here and I love it, clothes dry overnight now in an un heated room now.

hiddenhome · 12/11/2013 18:49

Mine arrived today and it's great. I've even washed some bedding. It takes out quite a bit of water and I'd say it will probably reduce drying time by about half.

It's quiet and is about the size of a large kitchen bin.
