Cooking oil (I think!) stain on coir doormat - how do I clean it????

It's a really noticeable stain. It must have come from a bin bag that was waiting to be taken out. But it's a doormat I bought for DH (it says Welcome in Welsh!) and I really don't want to chuck it.

Any ideas?

I know cat litter absorbs grease. You could try that as a first resort. Then a scrub with hot water and detergent to get the rest out.

A solution of washing up liquid will cut through the grease, then rinse off, preferably using a steam cleaner.
