Carpet marks HELP PLEASE

Hi

My daughters been practicing ballet in her bedroom and the brand new wool carpet has darkened and gone a bit shiny where she's been pirouetting. No shoes or dirt, she was dancing in nylon tights.

Please can anyone suggest how to solve this ?

A really intense hoover would be my starting point, then some carpet cleaner (I use Vanish foam) if that doesn't work. Finally, I have had miraculous results be putting a tea towel down and holding the steam iron so that it rest on the tea towel but does not apply any weight to the carpet pile and then blasting steam.

Thanks - I'll progress straight to the steam option as I've tried the other two!

Put ice cubes on the depressed pile, and it will lift as they melt.
