First post in Good Housekeeping

I'm buying a hoover today. We bought a cheap Vax a few years ago and it's crap. It has no suck whatsoever and it makes hoovering a complete pain.

Budget is £200. I want a bagless. I don't want an upright. I don't want a Dyson (my budget probably rules out our anyway Grin ).

The main issues in my house are the puppy and my endlessly shedding long hair Confused

So far I'm looking at a Henry. My mum has recommended her Miele but they all seem to be bagged?

Can you recommend a powerful sucking hoover/vacuum? Or a reliably god brand?

I originally thought the same as you, but went for a Miele and it's great. I don't find the 'bagged' part too much of a problem, in spite if not wanting one initially! Decided it's better to have a decent vacuum cleaner. So sorry, probably not much help!

No that is helpful! Thank you Smile

My mum said the same about the bags not really being an issue.

Hmmm. There's a really well reviewed miele on one offer on Amazon as well.

But Henry has a face. A lovely, helpful little face Smile.

And a button that makes the suck more powerful.

I have a Hetty (she has eyelashes!)

Yes Miele Cat and Dog. Amazing and life changing Blush I now enjoying hoovering. It is bagged but with pet hair it is recommended. With bag less the hair clogs the filters and etc up.

BrownSauceSandwich · 29/10/2013 20:31

Um, yeah, we also have a Miele cat and dog. Every now and then I hanker after a bag less, but until we can afford a Dyson animal (when is that ever going to happen, with everything else I hanker for???) we'll survive with the bags.

BrownSauceSandwich · 29/10/2013 20:33

Bagless. Not bag less.

Oh, and I forgot the main point: Miele one is very good indeed. Whatever you get will be a massive improvement on an old AND crap one.

I've ordered the Miele cat and dog! It'll be here tomorrow so will report back after I use it.

I cannot believe I'm actually excited at the prospect of hoovering Blush Grin

Thanks all.

Haha. You will love it. I was so shocked at how quiet mine was and the variable suction settings are ace.

I have the Miele cat and dog and it is fab! I have a pup and hoover every day (sometimes twice!) and have only changed the bag once since July so it's not a faff at all, it's so much better than my old Dyson, you will love it and my favourite thing is still pressing the button for the plug to automatically wind back in Grin - sad!
