Moving into a dirty(?) House

Moving into what is actually my dream home 1930's traditional semi- anyway all signed etc moving in 1 week went for a final measure.

Although the house has been empty months every other time we've viewed it been ok needs redecorating everywhere but liveable but today I went in and there were dead flies in the livibg room probably about 20 and dead ants on kitchen work tops maybe 20-30.
We are moving in with our baby and I'll be giving it a good clean but worried the house is crawling! (We won't be able to redecorate until late next year)

Are you me? Lol
Last year we moved into our dream 1930s semi and the place was covered in dead flies the day we moved in. The previous owner was in a home and it had been empty for a year.
I scrubbed the place the first week and haven't had any since

That's good to know :) I've been worried all afternoon been so looking forward to moving in but thought maybe its a bigger problem I didn't look in the kitchen cupboards wish I had now

Well presumably you wouldn't have not bought for the sake of a few dead flies, so don't worry about that. Either scrub all the cupboards out or some cleaners offer a one-off whole house clean wish I've done that when we moved

Its unlikely that you'll see insects as a result of the dead ones, so just forget about then once they've gone.

Just a but gross really but I am weird about any insects/pests etc had convinced myself of a full blown infestation this afternoon and worrying whether there would be mice (I know!)
Right got a good couple days to clean it before we move in so thinking give it all a good clean then hire carpet cleaner and maybe steam cleaner for kitchen hope that does the trick don't want a house full of creepy crawlies
