Recommend me a dishwasher

Mine (Zanussi progress model) has packed up. It hadnt been cleaning well for a while (streaks on crockery despite rinsing before stacking and frequent top ups of dishwasher salt and rinse aid) and has now finally stopped working.

Any recommendations? Quite happy to pay average or a reasonable above average price for one that really cleans well.

Any makes to avoid?

TIA

Bosch have cash back at the moment. It runs until Dec.

Miele are good too.

I would only buy a Bosch or Miele dishwasher. We currently have this one:

I think this is how you make a clicky link on a phone. If not, I am sorry.

Thanks for the speedy response. Yes I've heard good things about Bosch and Miele so it's good to hear that recommendation from people who use them

Meile.

Last one lasted 10 years.

We just bought that one recently after moving a year ago. The house had a Hotpoint machine which was truly dreadful. I couldn't face carrying on with it any longer despite the fact it still worked. My last 3 machines have been Bosch ones. They were all integrated so I couldn't bring them with me each time I moved.

get a Bosch

mostly around the £450 mark if that suits you. The simpler models are generally made using most of the same parts and designs as the upmarket ones, and being less complicated are likely to be more reliable. The latest ones tend to be more economical on water and electricity. Siemens appliances are made by the same company and very good, usually aimed upmarket of most Bosch.

Looking at recent "Which" Best Buys (full-size, free-standing), the top seven are all Bosch or Siemens.

In order, top four, best first:

Bosch
SMS40C12GB
scored 79% £323

Bosch
SMS40A08GB
79% £360

Bosch
SMS53A12GB
77% £384

Bosch
SMS65E22GB
76%
£489

Miele.

Current one is 8 years old & going strong.

One before was 20 years old & was left in house we sold.

Basic model is fine - you don't need all the fancy stuff.
