Liqui tabs keep bursting

Do anyone else's liqui-tabs keep bursting? Have tried multiple packs but they all seem prone to it. Either one goes and the rest are swimming in goop or multiple ones fuse together then burst when you try to prise them apart.

Am I doing something wrong or is this just What They Do and I need to switch to powder tablets?

Also - do I win some sort of prize for most boring thread on a Friday evening?

Are you lifting one out of the box with wet or damp hands? Even one drop of water on another one will cause it to burst or stick to the one beside it.

ecuse · 26/10/2013 00:52

I keep them in the cupboard under the kitchen sink, which is where I thought everyone kept them!

Wet hands might be the problem... I hadn't realised that. Mumsnetters are wise.

you need to keep them high up and locked up to stop kids and pets getting at them. they are really dangerous. best to switch to powder.

Icelollycraving · 28/10/2013 09:27

They are very dangerous if kids get hold of them. I think there was a toddler blinded by them :( I moved mine to a high cupboard after that.

specialsubject · 28/10/2013 19:12

they also cost a bomb! Use washing liquid or boxed powder. Tablets are insanely expensive.

LittleTulip · 28/10/2013 19:16

Yep tablets are expensive but I hate the powder gloop left in the washer drawer Sad

mousmous · 28/10/2013 19:28

you can put the powder directly into the drum.

AnitaBlake · 28/10/2013 19:28

They need to be kept well away from kids, they will burn the insides if they are eaten, its really really bad :( I work with one of the guys running information campaign. They really are a problem.

Besides that I stopped using them cuz they were permanently sticking together!

Deffo wet hands! I've gone through 15 a week since they came out and never has one burst. I gave a box to MIL who couldn't resist lining the box with card and putting tissue paper in the box to separate them? Hmm They all burst

ecuse · 30/10/2013 16:05

They are expensive, but I only ever buy them when they're on half price offers!
