Help me silence rustly bedding, please!

I've just been given 3 matching pairs of very smart single duvets, perfect as we use two singles on our bed instead of a kingsize. Anyway, they don't half rustle! I like my bedding to be silent and soft. As it is, I worry about waking the kids up when I turn around (sleeping in my room). They have had some light use by their previous owner, and I've washed them prior to using them, but this rustling is something else, like sleeping under crepe paper. I haven't used fabric softener as I can't get on with the stuff, and none of my other bedding needs it. They're lovely, a nice, fairly thickly woven cotton, but nothing unusual, just a good quality cloth. Any ideas for softening them?

Can't help sorry....I love rustly bedding! I've got one set from Ikea that is particularly noisy, and its my favourite!

Maybe tumble drier with some dryer sheet

YY, tumble drier (with balls if you have them).

I've just worked out that you mean duvets not duvet covers. I've been wondering how you get two single duvet covers on a kingsize duvet Hmm Blush

No, I do mean duvet covers (that's what comes of posting far too late at night, while trying not to rustle...). And YES, the two rustliest pairs are from IKEA; a sort of white woven striped one which looks almost pleated and one with cute frosty pastel piping on a custard coloured background (strange culinary analogy... watching too much Bake Off, clearly). Okey dokey, will try tumble drying and perhaps a teeny bit of softener and balls (I'd forgotten I have those) and a sheet. Belt and braces. Thanks everyone!
