Do I really need a steam mop? If so, which one?

Help! I have just searched the internet to buy a new microfibre mop to replace a very tired vileda one, but am now confused. There are so many reviews from people saying how amazing their steam mops are that I am beginning to wonder if I need one too? Will it really transform my cleaning or will it be another expensive electrical item that stays in the cupboard, alongside my juicer and breadmaker!?????

Just an update - I bought the 1500W Abode steam cleaner for £50 at Amazon, and some of the coral pads. Having tried both the microfibre and the coral, the latter seem to do a better job (and they have an ingenious toggle gather design, which means they stay on better too).

I've only used it twice, but already it is making me realise that in spite of all my scrubbing, my kitchen and bathroom floor tiles are FILTHY along the grout lines shame!! It's quick and easy to use, and hasn't left the floors that wet so far (at least, not as wet as I left them when scrubbing on my hands and knees). It also comes with a carpet glider, which I've used to get rid of a stain in my lounge, and to steam the sofa. On soft floors, it's not as good as the Bissell carpet cleaner I own, but then again I will probably use it more often as I won't have to drag another appliance out of the cupboard to work on carpets. /lazy

Really chuffed, all in all.
