maggots - WTAF??

why are there maggots wriggling all over (the outside) of my back door and the back step??

Do I need to get someone with a ladder to see if there is a corpse in the gutter? Pretty sure they are not from the bin, it's not near the door. Some fell onto my kitchen floor when I opened the back door

Maybe someone smeared cat food on there a few nights ago and some flies did the dirty in it?..........How well DO you get on with your neighbours??? Smile

Seriously though..... o.O poor you.... not a sight I would want to see.......sympathy....

P.S. Hope it isn't a corpse. Hmm

ThePFJ · 19/10/2013 00:29

Or maybe a passing fox stopped and ate his disgusting bin raid dinner on your door step and erm.. they fell out?
Probably not your neighbours. They would have to be really weird neighbours. Have you got a chain on your door.....?

They're horrible, I sympathise. We had some in our vegetable box last week. Dh said that's what you get if you buy organic (he thought they were caterpillars Hmm but 'twas the beetroot that was rotting)

BrownSauceSandwich · 20/10/2013 17:24

Oh crikey, that's grim. We've had a similar experience... My money's on the bird in the gutter. Barf.

Pancakeflipper · 20/10/2013 17:32

I had thousands of them wriggling in my wheelie bin.

I jet washed them to death and then bleached the bin. I have no guilt at being a maggot murdered cos' they scared the shit of me when I opened the bin that morning...

VerySmallSqueak · 20/10/2013 17:36

They're bastards to kill.

PigletJohn · 20/10/2013 19:12

sprinkle them out as bird food.

MoaningMingeWhingesAgain · 20/10/2013 22:39

aww pigletjohn I was hoping you would turn upGrin
it's rained again since but no more. They were all over the back yard, step and door. Twas like a horror filmSad
I'm convinced re corpse in gutter theory.
