Can I wash Cath Kidson Oil cloth bag?

I've bought the cowboy print oil cloth cath kidson changing bag off of eBay.... It's turned up very dirty round the strap... (Not as tidy as it looked in pics but it was a bargain at £12 with the changing mat and bottle holder so don't really want to return it)
What do you think?...
Sponge it down and see how it goes? Or
Cool wash in a pillow case the whole bag

Yes. Or if the oilcloth loos a bit fragile or cracking I pop them in a bath of " soak" which is a wash that does what it says - just soak thinks no rubbing etc and they get cleaner!
