repairing scratches in leather sofa

Just noticed ds has made several small tears in leather sofa Sad He was cutting weapons out of cardboard earlier with his friend. The sofa is old but I am gutted. The scratches cut the coloured surface part iykwim .
Any tips very welcome

not sure about repairing but to cover the scratches use shoe polish or shoe dye. Rub a little furniture wax afterwards (or dubbin) and buff, buff, buff

Some of it might work with shoe polish but I think I might also need some sort of glue ?

Yeah I also don't think that there is any solution for this problem because mostly you need to change the whole leather cover. Anyhow I will try to find some solution..
