Are you using bicarbonate of soda or washing soda?

A large (1kg) bag of washing soda crystals is £1. A 200g pack of bicarbonate of soda is £1.29 - from Asda.

can i be mega cheeky and ask what u use it to clean pls. ??

PatTheHammer · 12/10/2013 09:23

They had it in the 99p shop the other day, in the cleaning section. You cannot be too far away from a town with a 99p shop, they are bloody everywhere :-)

You can buy it in big tubs from pool (and hot tub) chemical suppliers. It'll work out cheaper than buying those little packs, especially if you use loads.

The thing I use it for mostly Captainb is sprinkling it on the carpets, leave it overnight and then Hoover, it brings up the dirt and smells brilliantly (I have a potty training toddler and pets).

Amazon - £5.99 for 3kg

Captainbarnacles1101 · 12/10/2013 11:18

Oh brilliant Uri! My youngest 2 are both potty training!

Bunbaker · 12/10/2013 13:42

Uri. Does that work with washing soda, or is it completely different?

UriGHOULer · 12/10/2013 16:12

Hmm. I think washing soda is a different thing (sodium carbonate as opposed to bicarbonate) but that's as far as my science goes Bunbaker, sorry!

As well as the Amazon option mentioned above, there is Summer Naturals. (It is more expensive than Amazon though, so only worth considering if you intend to buy other products from Summer Naturals).

I would recommend that you check your local Chinese supermarket. Mine sells a lot of bulk basics (such as sodium bicarbonate or white vinegar) very cheaply.
