Oven door really dirty

Hi. I use the oven pride oven cleaning bag/ kit. Which I think is the best thing for doing your racks and the inside of the oven but the glass bit( that you can take out) of the doors is disgusting. I have tried elbow grease and scrubbing with boiling hot water and washing up liquid. I've tried vinegar, window cleaner. Everything. An I put the glass in the oven pride bags too? Any other ideas that will get rid of the grime ?

Oh and if you un clip the shelves and holders and soak them in boiling water with 2 dissolved dishwasher tabs for Couple of hours then put them in the dish washer that works a treat too! Cheaper than oven pride.

When we had a professional oven cleaner in, he used something with ammonia in it. We had moved out, he came in, put his ammonia stuff in,left over night, came back next day, oven was sparkling and apparently very little effort involved. Google ammonia based oven cleaners and see what it come up with.

I have a modified version of Valium's tip which I got off here (and which would work if you have the liquid tabs).

Dissolve in boiling water and soak a dishcloth/old teatowel in it. Wring it out slightly (ie. so it isn't dripping) and spread out over glass. Leave for a while and then wipe away.

I tend to fish out the tablet before it has fully dissolved, do the dishcloth thing and then use the rest of the tab to finish any stubborn left over bits.

Am looking forward to trying valiumhead's tip.

Quick question (hope you don't mind 123rd), I now have a nicely Oven-Prided oven. What's the best and easiest way of cleaning it regularly so that it doesn't get in such a nuke-worthy state again?
