Does anyone have heated drying rack?

We've moved into one of those period houses and I'm sick of things taking forever to dry after washing, with things still damp on day 2 (damp -> mildew...ewww).

I'm betting behind laundry now and started to use disposable nappies :( Buying drier is not an option right now as we live in rented without space for drier.

Is anyone raving about heated drying rack from Lakeland? Worth the cost?

Any other ideas? :( dehumifidier?

I have the drying rack from Lakeland. It's great! We live in a Victorian terrace & I have it in the attic for drying. Can easily dry a load while we're at work and also great for sheets/ towels which I can turn around in a day.

Can't reccomend it highly enough. If it died I would be straight into LL to buy another!

Doesn't the water off the wet clothes just evaporate then cause dampness in the room? We have a cold, damp house and the cost of a dryer and a humidifier seems a bit much.

We've got a partially converted attic- we use as office/ storage etc. I use the heated airer up there with the velux window just slightly open.

The airer gives off a lot of heat so temp wise prob offsets heat lost through window.

To be honest we've not found condensation a big prob- wouldn't put sopping wet items on it..

I got heated drying rack, it was crap. Things only dried where they were in actual contact with it, so I got striped drying. Gave it away after a few uses.

I must admit that I did get a heated drying rack and agree with Olivo. I know it was cheap to use but only dried what was actually in contact with.

I have the lakeland one and it's great - it dries a full load of laundry in a couple of hours and I haven't seen any damp developing (had it since last winter).

I have just bought the Lakeland drying rack and very impressed so far. Takes a load of washing and if you put a sheet over it, something I read on here, your washing is more or less dry overnight.

Does anyone have the larger winged one? I have an unheated one of this shape that is fab so to have a heated one for winter would be great, but don't know if it works as well?

I don't think mine was from Lakeland to be fair. Also, is it safe to leave them on overnight?

I think so Olivo they use very little power & everyone here seems to quite safely!

I have one there fantastic. I use the sheet thrown over. And I also use dehumidifier once a week to clear damp out the air. Mine is in kitchen so would be using a dehumidifier anyway.

I have one and whilst I think it's great I think you do have to cover it with a sheet or similar in order for it to dry efficiently, maybe they should make that clear when you buy it. Without the cover the clothes take a long time to dry in my experience. However I've not noticed problems with condensation and also BIG plus no washing hanging all over radiators.

I keep looking at them and am so tempted. We have a dryer but so many of the kids clothes can't go in, their sports kit can't go in and jeans shrink in it.

Can you dry a whole load of washing at once?
